Our first visit to this freehouse for three or more years. Under new management pre-pandemic, now with a good range of permanent real ales (4) and one changing guest. Cosy bar area and larger side room for both drinking and eating (home made bar snacks - pasties, sausage rolls - and Sunday roasts. Popular with locals and visitors to Bristol, close to The Downs for walking, and the many shops en route to museums and the city centre. Terraced seating area outside. Note that the entrance from Blackboy Hill is VERY steep (but short). Welcoming staff, dog friendly.
