A miserable experience. The reflection coating on my glasses cracked due to heat, giving me glare through the cracks. I called the optician yesterday and asked if they could just remove the coating. I was told to come in to the store to get it sorted, which I did this morning. I cycled into town, and was immediately told the lenses would need replacing. Fair enough. I asked to buy some new lenses. I was told they would need my frames for 2 weeks, and I would need to sign a waiver so if they get damaged in the process it's my problem. I was slightly uncomfortable with that because I would essentially be blind for a fortnight. (I can actually instal lenses myself. The 100+ Specsavers frames I had already bought were so poor, they would eject my lenses from time to time, and a small flathead screwdriver would allow me to fix them and instal lenses very easily within 60 seconds). I asked if I could just get some new lenses. This would allow me to keep wearing the broken glasses in the meantime. Apparently this was unlikely but I could call in tomorrow to check with the lab. When I asked if the lab would be open tomorrow, the answer was "no" so I actually would just be wasting my time again. So a simple attempt at buying some new lenses was scuppered and I am now left wondering what to do, either sit blindly unable to work for a few weeks while they mess around with (and potentially break) my old frames, or keep using my broken lenses for the next year as I await a new prescription. I've used many Specsavers stores across the country over the years, and they've mostly been great but unfortunately this one was awful. They didn't even seem to care.

This store has different staff and it shows with the great service, friendly helpful and efficient.I just had some spectacles made and unfortunately both pairs were not right how ever the problems are being put right in a professional manner.

Slightly shocked I had to pay as in full time education and I was told it would be a free eye test. Optician spoke too fast and was difficult to understand. Felt rushed. Dont actually know whats going on with my eyes.
