My mother was at Ashbourne for only a few months at the end of her life , the staff looked after her beautifully although she had multiple needs , she appreciated that this was a small home with regular staff and excellent management which made me confident that she was in the best hands.

I'm extremely impressed with the management team (and their support workers) at Ashbourne House Care Home. Their continued efforts to create a warm, friendly and homely feel for the residents is to be applauded.

The staff at Ashbourne house looked after my mother for the last year of her life. She was not an easy old lady and the staff there looked after her with affection and humour. My mother had been in another care home who should have been more Able to look after her but the staff turnover was too great for any continuity. At Ashbourne the staff were nearly the same when she went in as when she left. It is a testament to the good management that staff stay and work hard, looking after guests where elsewhere ticking boxes seemed more important. When my mother had a fall at Ashbourne the manager came in on her day off to ensure everything was ok. Not purpose built and perhaps a little worn around the edges it was comfortable and homely and did not have the institutional feel or smell that some other newer homes have. My mother was as happy as she could have been, and seeing the same faces all the time was a constant she needed to help lessen the distress caused by her dementia.
