My Mother spent approximately 8 months at Oakhill and in that time I have never had any cause for concern whether visiting either on the spur of the moment or pre organised, her dignity was maintained at all times, staff were patient, polite and always on hand to feedback from questions or queries I may have had. Her room was always clean, her laundry done and she looked presentable when it was clear this was beyond her own control. Towards her end of life her medical care was first rate as it had been throughout her stay and I was always kept up to date without even having to ask. All you could want for your loved one is here, a beautifully kept building with kind, thoughtful and above all genuinely caring staff. Thank you.

Nothing but praise for this home who nursed my mum in her final weeks before sadly passing away. All my questions were always answered and they informed me of any changes. A special thanks to Femi who was with my mum in her final 2days.

Our Mum's time here was mixed; mostly the home were not able to communicate with her. Staff seemed unable or not allowed to help more. Very little time was given to patients' individual needs such as just being with a person for a few minutes, even basic things such as emptying vases of dead flowers were not done. There are many more incidents that we did report to the relevant persons but we found many of those requests didn't get followed through. I did not see good examples of assistance with Dementia for my mum, maybe other residents who were able to communicate more were/are more fortunate. Majority of the staff are lovely and want to help where permitted. The management need to remember that residents are not just numbers, that they are still human beings and when dealing with family and friends should talk of them in that way. No one should be referred to as their room number when they have a name.
