This is an absolutely superb club for complete beginners and advanced martial artists alike. I have been training with Ben for over a year now and have developed my practice and learnt the system with a speed that I don't think I could achieve in other clubs. He is a dedicated teacher who really thinks about every lesson... he starts with seemingly simple principles and techniques and over 90 minutes takes the initial concept through to very advanced levels. He does not 'ration out' some of the advanced forms that in some clubs seem to be reserved for advanced fee paying students. He will often use the dummy, swords and pole to reinforce the principles he is teaching that evening. Beginners are welcome, the club is small and friendly. The current location is safe, easy to park near and convenient. The gym itself is rather run down but is actually a great space to train - with a heavy bag and a wooden dummy. Highly recommended - Ben does not advertise or promote the club in any meaningful way - hence me taking the time to write this review!

As a fellow Mui Faa Sifu I have to sing praise for Ben. When our Sifu is unavailable Ben is my go to guy. I have trained with him for many years now and he has helped me greatly, grasping the finer points of wing chun. I am proud to call him my "Si Hing" or "Kung Fu Elder Brother." His club is a great place and we have often held seminars there hosting some top instruction from Masters of many other arts. Teaching a traditional wing chun system with a credible lineage, Mui Faa Academy possesses instructors that are not shy of putting our system to the test, sharing and comparing with other clubs, arts and systems. A great attitude and mindset creates an environment that makes everybody welcome and training suitable for all, no matter your age, fitness or previous martial experience. If you are in Bristol looking to learn the real deal and not just McDojo martial arts this is the club you have been looking for.

Ben is a great teacher He teaches us as a family - 2 children and 2 adults and has the patience of a saint! His teachings are informative, educational and most important, fun! My children are often resistant to going but he does well to coax them and teach them, he is so patient and able to get through to them Thank you Ben!
