I was given the job over the phone which first set off alarm bells as there wasn't even much of an interview process. After getting my welcome pack and reading through the companies archaic and not to mention discrimatory policies on dress code and appearance. I have never experienced a job with such discrimatory rules such as not being able to roll sleeves up, make up not to be noticeable, only allowed to wear hoop or stud earrings, I felt slightly put off by it. I was added into several group chats which kept going off during the night with stuff that could have clearly waited for the morning instead of hassling people at 10 and 11pm at night. Some of the jobs available were only 30 minutes or 45 minutes which it probably takes more to travel to than to do the job. I had a good read at reviews of the company online which definitely opened my eyes and I opted not to take the role. As for the discrimatory rules and guidelines of how you need to appear when working in stores, this needs to be taken a look at as if you notice supermarket workers have tattoos, unnatural hair colours. You cannot discriminate like this and therefore your policies clearly need to be reviewed to move with this modern world.
