Georgina at the Fishponds branch has been by far and away the best conveyancing solicitor I've ever used. This was my 4th house purchase and she has been the most helpful, fastest, most responsive and most friendly and personable solicitor I've ever dealt with. She was so good at highlighting things in the searches that we might want to look in to, and she was brilliant at chasing up some slower parts of our chain. I've used some of the most well known Bath based solicitors who charged extortionate fees and didn't provide half the service Georgina did. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or the rest of the team at Star Legal, all of whom have been equally helpful. Very happy.

avoid! Their incompetence has costed me 1000s of pounds and about a month of delays (so far) I needed a document apostilled in order to be presented to a foreign country, and the government website mentioned it first needed to be certified by a solicitor. Star Legal was in the government solicitor's list to provide this service. I sent an email mentioning exactly what I needed according to the website, and they replied with a list of documents required (which did not make any sense, as I only needed one document to be certified). Assuming they knew better than me, I proceeded and brought the required documents. They made certified photocopies of all documents: I asked if I had to send the original and the photocopy, as the government's instructions required the original document to be legalised. They said I only needed to send the photocopies, as they were already certified. I went to the post office and sent the certified photocopies, as described by Star Legal, only to find out 3 weeks later that the government's legalisation office required extra payment to certify the unneeded documents that were requested by Star Legal. After making the payment, they rejected all the documents, because only original documents can be apostilled. This has caused important delays in a process that was already very time sensitive, resulted in needing to cancel and reschedule flights, hotels and move other obligations. Star Legal should definitely be removed from the government's list of solicitors that can offer the document legalisation service.
