I explained that I wanted my greys covered and a half head of balayage if youre in the hair trade and you dont know what this is you shouldnt be in business as its the biggest colour trend in the last 5 years (The dye is painted on to give a really subtle beachy highlight in either a honey or blonde tone the colour is not applied with foil and this treatment is absolutely not the same as highlights).
In all honesty I should have cancelled the colouring when the stylist looked blank when I explained what I wanted, which I thought was pretty straight-forward, but to my eternal regret I thought that maybe it would be better than the first visit (again then the cut was fine, but colour applied poorly and patches of hair not dyed).
He went downstairs to prepare the dyes and the stylist I was expecting to have came over and said We put you with him as youve had him before. I told her that I had specifically requested to have someone else and explained my concerns and dissatisfaction about the previous visit and she said she said sorry and that shed go talk to him, but a few minutes later he returned with the dyes mixed up ready to go and the stylist I was expecting to have never returned.
At the end of the appointment I couldnt really see a difference in the salons light, but I have to say the next day looking at my hair in broad daylight Im shocked at the appalling colour. No subtle blends, a weird and horrible light colour underneath my main dark hair colour. Some of the hair is half and half in strange patches. Not quite an abomination, but definitely in that neighbourhood is probably is how I would describe it right now and the dent of 136 in my purse, which Ive paid twice. That will teach me to give second chances.
Im not ecstatic either about having to spend what will probably amount to a few hundred pounds putting it right at another salon, as Im never returning to David Sinclair, not only because of the colour horror, but also the shoddy, underhand service between the stylists and Id advise anyone else to steer clear too unless you just want a trim or a blue rinse, because thats all they appear to be capable of.
