The dignity and compassion shown at my husbands funeral this week was five star plus. The phone calls from Mike the funeral director were very much appreciated. So much respect from all the team especially from Sara when arranging details of the service etc. Thankyou to you all. and details.hyy

What an amazing, staff at cleeve road downend ,Paige Lynne and funeral director Steve. An excellent standard of professionalism which is second to none it was only out weighed by the care and compassion given to the people who have lost a loved one. I can not thank you enough, the situation we are in at the moment, does not make life easy for any of us, but these amazing people made no allowances or excuses, they carried on in a truly professional way. They are true asset to coop funeral care .Once again thank you so much for your kindness and support

After attending my grans funeral yesterday I would never ever recommend the co-op to anyone. Unprofessional, scruffy, and no respect or compassion. When arranging the funeral we asked if we could have family bearers which we were told we either have 4 or we wouldnt be allowed to carry as they dont mix the professional bearers with family. That was fine, we understand thats their policy so we didnt question it. We couldnt get 4 bearers so left it to the professionals. Firstly a male bearer arrived swinging the order of service sheets in one arm and a cigarette hanging out his mouth. Strolling across to the chapel while having a puff. Didnt look like a professional at all. Then the hearse arrived dirty and the female driver got out who looked scruffy. Not the professional look we expected. We then seen wheels be brought to the back of the hearse for the coffin to go on. Gran didnt weigh much at all, she was frail as you would expect at 93 years old. The woodland chapel is the shortest walk for a crematorium in Bristol. There was no real reason that she should be put on wheels. They had 4 bearers which we paid to carry the coffin. It was just pure laziness. No one let us know that she was going to be wheeled and when asked why she was being wheeled the bearers just looked to the floor and didnt answer. A hard day was made harder with the lack of respect shown by the team. The lack of professionalism and compassion was shocking. There was no attention to detail. If you want a proper job done that is personal to your family then dont use a co-op branch. Awful experience from start to finish.

If I could leave more than 5 stars, then I would do so. First class in every respect. Mike and Lynn are to be commended.

Coop Funeralcare - different branches to the one I used - was recommended to me by two people. The Downend branch handled my mothers funeral with expertise, compassion & friendliness. Nothing was too much trouble. When I phoned with questions, these were dealt with immediately, usually by the lovely Lynne or Mike, who was there to support us through the day itself. They were so kind to myself & my family. When there initially to discuss our requirements, they asked me to fill in a short form about my mother. They explained that the information given would be used when on the eve of the funeral, the company would gather around my mothers coffin & say a few words about her. This made it truly individual & is a truly lovely thing to do. On the day itself, going to the church, the team looked so smart & iI liked the way that Mike, who walked in front of the hearse, stopped to bow to the coffin respectfully before getting into the car. My mother would have appreciated that. Words - nor my offering of chocolate & a thank you card - cannot adequately thank them all for making such a horrible occasion easier, but if my review convinces people to use them, that will be worthwhile. Thank you all once again.
