The very old cashier was extremely rude to me and I have truly never experienced something like that in my life. Im a student who happened to be carrying cardboard boxes as I was moving out of my flat. The cashier laughed and made a comment asking if I was going to sleep in it tonight, alluding if I were homeless. I was truly shocked at the lack of respect for a customer. Will never visit the shop again and I hope you are ashamed of yourself. Hire and train your staff better

Every store on Park Street that I recall from my youth has long since shut except the Bristol Guild. Their success and longevity must be attributed to the eclectic range of superb products. Where else can you get Bristol themed Christmas cards, drinking chocolate and a sofa under one roof!?

In the decade we've lived in Bristol we've bought many presents in Guild - and a few things for our own home too. The shop contains a carefully chosen, tasteful selection of quality products, attractively displayed. We're always conscious that we could almost certainly buy the same thing elsewhere for less -at least as far as the products on the ground floor are concerned - but we've chosen to give Guild our custom because we think what a shame it would be if it wasn't there. What a shame, then, that the experience is let down by the staggering unfriendliness of the ground floor staff. The staff upstairs (particularly in the food section) are another matter. They're always friendly and helpful. The staff at the till downstairs, however, are almost always at best off-hand and seem to be at pains to give the impression that it's a privilege for customers to be able to enter the shop. We popped in today to buy a birthday present for a friend. By the time we emerged back onto Park Street, we'd both decided we won't return.
