Source at Beacon House

I have no idea whose idea was to make a cafe where people specifically go to study for (it is in a university building, for lord's sake) a "laptop-free" zone, but it is the worst idea humanity has ever come up with in a long time. I was asked to leave when I had an urgent team call I needed to attend. Remind you I WAS THE ONLY ONE there at that point; I know abandoned Debenhams stores that are more crowded on a weekday. I expected better as a long-term customer, but this was the treatment I was seen as worthy of. Honestly, never seen a brand getting so many chances to create a good image but consistently destroying it every. Single. TIME

Good coffee & food. The cafe is clean & bright. I was disappointed with an employee who cleared our table. His manner was unfriendly & the way he took our cups was a little officious with no pleasant interaction. I said to him in a positive & friendly manner cheer up which seemed to be an issue for him. I was surprised by his dramatic response which was a barrage of how I did not know anything about him as an individual. Maybe he was having a bad day but I felt the need to raise his poor manner to a manager. The response from the manager was in my view a little limp. I didnt let this interaction ruin my day, rather putting it down to a bad experience of poor customer service.
