I was interested in a e-mtb and John and Sam at Friction Cycles were exceptionally helpful, freely offering their valuable expertise to help me choose. My own circumstance was that I had a gravel bike and was keen to explore e-mountain biking. Having taken the time to understand my previous cycling experience and what I was hoping for from an e-mtb, Sam patiently provided excellent and appropriate advice. This is a great shop where everyone is passionate and knowledgeable about cycling. The bikes are awesome too!

Best bike shop Ive been to in Bristol. Such a friendly place with an incredible team. John and co went above and beyond to help me with all my biking needs. These people love what they do, and care for their customers and your bike (possibly more than you do ). Would highly recommend!

Absolutely incredible bike shop! Started dealing with these guys couple of years ago. Gave me truly honest and sound advice in terms of the best mtb for me (Im an older chap) bike I got Reactor 275C was and still is perfect for me absolutely love the thing! Brings a smile to my face every time I ride it. Just got a megawatt comp for the lady. Shes over the moon with it! What stands out massively above any other bike shop Ive ever dealt with is the honest advice and opinions. Bloody good bunch of enthusiastic guys that genuinely invest in the customers needs

I took my bike in to get the gear shifting fixed some months ago and the person who looked at it came up with a large number of other repairs he said needed doing, quoting 250 in total. I was sceptical and took it to Bikesmiths down the road who fixed the gears for about 20. And the bike has been going fine since. So I wouldn't take their word for it if they argue you need a lot of repairs that aren't obviously necessary, and I now don't trust them not to add on unnecessary things if I were to take the bike for repair here. Edit to reply to response - my quote (which I still have) was not just for safety-related issues. 65 was just for "service cost". 55 was for new gear shifters and cables. Etc. The bike has been fine for months after the ~20 repair, so it seems that these were unnecessary. This suggests to me that at least one staff member overquotes and could lead to customers needing to pay more than they need to. Or that they don't know how to do repairs for good value. This is mainly just meant as feedback to help improvement - maybe evaluate whether high quotes given by staff are actually reasonable.
