The best pub service I have had the pleasure of receiving in a long time. We were warmly greeted by the busy but genuine staff who checked to see if we could still get food. When we realised it was only a set menu for Mother's day we initially said no thanks but they offered to do us sandwiches off menu so we stayed. Really glad we did, two lovely warm sarnies made to order with sourdough bread and some dressed spinach. They were generous and delicious and we were stuffed afterwards! Good selection of ales at the bar, shame we couldn't stay for drinks. Looks great for a post walk meal and for families. Thank you:

Lovely place & under new management. The food is excellent. Had their special tonight, Burger & Smoked Brisket, Cheese, Salad & fries and a pint. 12. Truly delicious. Will definitely be back.

I have gone to the three crowns for years and lived through the trauma of changing owners but this review will be based on it as is and not nostalgia. To note new owners (essentially a local company who own a few local pubs) only took over a few months ago so any review from 2022 or before is not valid. The pub has a great old english pub feel with extra space for tables which makes it a good pub restaurant venue, its a shame that is where the good stuff stops. Note the online menu is not their actual menu so reading it wont help! The actual menu is very limited and has very few classic simple dishes. Many unnecessary extra bits which increases the chances you wont like something (e.g. mac and cheese burger, but no actual normal burger). Staff were rude and appeared disinterested. The combination of the 12 yrd old waiter who did not seem to want to serve people or know what was on the menu and the grumpy senior member of staff who took umbrage with the fact we moved table to one we could actual sit down at. No thank you at the end of the meal or a smile from anyone all day. Food to be fair was edible though large portions with too many chips. Fish was a bit dry, burger greasy. And Eton Mess which was a plate of cream with one strawberry and meringue sprinkled on top; I kid not a plate of cream. Scallops were OK. So limited choice, grumpy staff and prices are not cheap. If everywhere was booked I might consider it but not somewhere I would go again by choice. Shame it has such potential.
