A small site in terms of English Heritage property, but it is a good one on a wet day as there is plenty undercover. Car park is along a lane, then a short walk down a track to the priory. There is disabled parking next to the shop. The shop is small but stocks bottled drinks and there is a coffee machine. Plenty to explore and a large grass area to let the kids lose. Next to the river, but no access. The priory is beautiful with stained glass that brightens it up even on a dull day. Guide book and helpful staff on hand for more information

The buildings themselves were interesting and well preserved. There was a lack of information, signs, background about the buildings and their history provided. Not having signs or information boards is unusual for English Heritage and it made it harder to get as much from the visit. Worth a visit as an English Heritage member, but seems overpriced for an individual visit given that you can only look round empty buildings. Could be a great place but currently just ok.
