Wilcom Europe

Well since I posted my review regarding the Wilcom Lettering software, I have had the opportunity to upgrade to the Embroidering Studio Editing E4. I did comment on the increased cost to do this in my previous review and this is why I only give it 4 stars. I think the software is very good and is why i stayed with Wilcom. I think the support is excellent as I have had to use it. If you are new to embroidery and not experienced with other design software, you will find this software easy to learn. Try to budget for the editing software as you will find very quickly, you would benefit from the extra tools available in the Wilcom Editing v Lettering software. Take time to read the manual too as there is lots of good tips and help. One I found helpful was the guide on choosing fonts that worked best for different font sizes. Thanks

Bought this software produced by Wilcom. Was recommended by an embroider/machine specialist when we purchased a new machine from. We did not want to digitise logos, we just wanted the option to add lettering to designs, lay them out and send to machine. I am an experienced designer and conversant with many design programs. On learning the Wilcom software I found it very straight forward apart from when i came to align and group text/imported logos. I could not find the "Group tool" and the keyboard short cut that works in every other design program uses " ctrl G" did not work. I thought it was a docker or setup that was needed. I could not find anything. Maybe it was a bad install? I searched the web for any info regarding this and none out there. So i contacted Wilcom..... and the reply was.... Can you believe it. This professional software :-) LOL. does not have this function.... yes you heard right. it does not have the grouping function in this software, but if you want to part with another 400 you can have it basically....(actually you have to purchase the upgrade to the software which gives you more options). Just do not be fooled by wording on the packaging or on the website. There are alternatives like Embrilliance and Embird. i hope this helps
