I started the journey to obtain a portrait of an old colleague with trepidation. I had never done this before. i was unable to get the subject, who lives in Padua, to sit for the artist. Would the portrait portrait the spirit and personality of the subject?Would the subject like the portrait? I was jolly glad that I found Masrk Fennell!. Mark guided me through the process; allowed me to comment as the work progressed and importantly listened to me and explained things to me. I enjoyed the journey. The result was an outstanding likeness with the spirit and personaslity of the subject shining through. Tears of emotion were shed by the bjevt upon the unveiling. I repeat, I'm jo;lly glad I found Mark Fennell. Great to have you work on this project. Thank you.

We commissioned Mark to paint a surprise portrait of 4 grandchildren for their Grandpas 80th birthday. This grandpa is no stranger to portraits, has already a few of himself and family but none of his grandchildren. The grandchildren also live 150 miles apart and are aged 11 to 7 years old. So this was a tricky commission. Mark was amazing! We sent a number of photos taken independently but then Mark came to us to take more of the group and get to know them. The portrait is spectacular- Mark caught each childs energy and character whilst making sure they e connected in a group. Their grandfather was stunned by the present and is now having fun framing the picture and deciding where it will hang. Mark was professional throughout - kept me up to date with progress, made little changes where suggested and needed but wasnt afraid to tell us what he needed. The whole process was enjoyable and the end portrait stunning - I would highly recommend Mark to anyone.
