Went there for a birthday dinner celebration and had my 1st roast. It was a really tasty Lamb Roast I do recommend. The other dished looked tasty too. The w.c is tidy and clean. The staff are really nice and the music wasnt too loud. They even have a Betty Boop Doll. One thing I didn't liked: they didn't had chillies. ( I love my food w/ chillies).

Two Sunday lunches here recently, both beef and both delicious and a challenge to finish (I didn't!)... chunky slices of medium rare beef and super beers and wine to accompany. Best spuds I've had on a pub roast (rival my Mum's). Book but can turn up for a 'bar table' if there's 2 of you.

The drinks were great, and the service we couldn't fault. However the Jukebox element was lacking a little, as we picked a couple of songs - a variety of different artists/genres but only heard 1 of our choices in the whole time we were there, but from another group, we had about 7 ABBA songs. Now, I do love a bit of ABBA but I think the experience would be better if there was a limit to how many times an artist can be used. It seemed that the table next to us, of about 6 people got all their choices, and felt like there was no actual 'Shuffle' function on the system. As slots were timed, we couldn't just choose to stay longer to hear our choices. We also found the music, which was supposed to be the big attraction, was at a really low level, and we couldn't hear them well over the general bar noises. In the end, our visit ended up a bit disappointing. I've visited pubs that have the 'jukebox from your phone' function just as an added extra who've managed it better.

You might expect a wanky sort of vibe from the name alone, but this place has a fantastic, genuine, old school 'pub' atmosphere coupled with some beautiful drinks and friendly, passionate staff.

One of the best spots in Brighton to sample various craft beers. They are always very keen on letting you taste a few beers before making your choice, no matter how busy the place is.
