3Dify Ltd 3D Scanning Studio

I needed a 3D scan of a life-size person for a digital printing commission and looked around to find a company that could do it. I had already tried using a hand held scanner, but it just didn't do a good enough job - took too long, had problems with colour and materials etc - and it was impossible to capture a 'moment in time', whilst someone was moving. I didn't want a static, dead, lifeless pose. I knew that I needed a Photogrammetry setup for my scan, and visiting 3Dify was a revelation, and allowed me to capture a great pose in seconds, absolutely perfectly - almost! You need to understand that some post clean-up is required in a 3D modelling tool like ZBrush, which is our software of choice anyway, so no problem. However the 3Dify scan gives a fantastic capture that you can easily use as a basis for further modelling. Things like hands need to be scanned at a higher resolution to capture detail for 3D printing. The 3Dify studio setup is very professional and easy to find, and Ian is a great guy to work with, can't recommend him highly enough, even getting him to be the Model was no problem! In summary, if you need a Photogrammetry digital 3D capture, I would give 10/10 to Ian and 3Dify - great pricing for artists, and nothing is too much trouble...I'll be back. A real pleasure to work with. Knowledgeable and generous. Provided huge support on a development project making what at first appeared seemingly impossible seem very possible. 3Dify provided 3D scan services during the making of my installation The Horse Problem. They made a success of the project by getting involved and managing all technical aspects of the 3D scan process, with great patience and understanding of the artistic requirements. Ian was very helpful , scanning Stephen Jones in the big rig . He also did great work ,in very difficult onsite conditions , scanning a small bronze sculpture of George IV I would highly recommend 3Dify and look forward to doing more work with them.
