Summary: Single care home owners and smaller operators (2 or 3 homes) beware. Use other brokers! Qcare use agents that are inexperienced and lack competence that almost left one of our homes without insurance over Christmas. Details: I have historically supported this broker. But their quality has diminished over the last couple of years. Most recently, we got insurance for one of our sites. Their surveyor did a bad job and despite telling me there were no issues, subsequently issued a report full of apparent breaches (which he was wrong about). (Eg he said our electrical wiring hadn't been tested. It had. 2 months before his visit). The report was so full of holes qcare should have challenged it there and then before allowing sanctions to be issued. Other brokers would. Our broker didn't challenge and let it pass. Because the points were basically agreed by him we were treated as a negligent customer. Within 1 day we had shown we had all the things in place. This should have been enough to resolve the matter. But because this broker doesn't do a good job at explaining things to your insurer, it wasn't. This broker also recommended 2 week timelines to fix things the fire risk assessor said were minor (with 3 to 6 month correction timelines given by them). He suggested 2 weeks over Christmas. The lack of understanding of how difficult it is to do anything over Christmas, let alone non-urgent work, in 2 weeks, is incredible. Dealing with them is a nightmare. The insurance would have been voided if it weren't for the fact we are a group and so have all our documentation and resources in place. So we could evidence everything more easily. Smaller care home owners beware. There are many other brokers who will liaise properly with your insurer and explain things with diligence. You don't need to use this firm. They don't provide the cheapest rates and they don't look after you. You don't want to find your insurance cancelled via them

They have always acted in a professional manner, mail have always been sent 4weeks prior to remind us of our insurance renewal. We are happy with their service.
