Attended a wedding reception. The food was adequate. There were no side plates or spare cutlery available. The staff delivering food and clearing tables were efficient and friendly. Rooms: Bed was very comfortable and room nicely cleaned.

*** Revised Review 25.04.23 *** Platinium Elite Member I stayed here 18th - 25th April 2023 in room 310. I regularly stay at IHG Hotels, and this hotel is one of the worst in the Holiday Inn brand. Breakfast is poor. When you arrive, you get handed a knife and fork wrapped in a small paper knapkin (what's wrong either setting up the tables with cutlery?) I had to ask two members of staff for poached eggs and had to give up waiting as they didn't turn up. Horrible coffee from a machine. The layout is poor - dairy free yoghurt and milk is kept nowhere near the milk or dairy yoghurt. My sea-facing executive room with a balcony is rather dated. Flaking paint on the balcony and an outdated wardrobe. Poor windows (poor soundproofing). Wafer thin walls (you can hear people snoring) Lift noise - I complained twice during my stay but nothing was done. Decent coffee machine (with pods). Useful fridge. Comfy king-size bed. Being woken up at 3am every morning by the bins being put out. On 20.04.23 I mentioned it to the receptionist who appeared unapologetic and indifferent. I wouldn't make a complaint if I didn't feel it was justified. 25.04.2023 Woke up at 4am and 5am with constant lift noise. Breakfast requested room service at 7am. Arrived late. Ha train to catch. Good location: The hotel is close to the shops, coffee shops, and restaurants. Across from the beach and promenard. 15 minutes walk to/from the railway station. A taxi cost me 6. Check-out 25.04.2023 Quick and efficient. No note or awareness of the issues that I reported over breakfast or being woken up at 5am on 24th & 25th. Offered to refund one night's accommodation, which was accepted.
