As the priest invited to take the funeral of a wonderful man, Barrie Anscombe I was immensely impressed with how Skinner's staff was so cooperative given the difficulties which presented themselves. Barrie was a long time friend of Shaun the Funeral Director. It was only in November that we held a service at the Crematorium for his beloved mother. After I had planned to visit his dad and brothers that had to be cancelled because of Covid difficulties, Skinners informed me of the Covid problem and we had to proceed by phone. Something I won't normally do. The family were naturally very upset but Shaun's utterly compassionate and efficient way of conducting the preliminaries of the service and his well judged and sensitive sense of humour created an atmosphere where I could play my part I hope in bringing some comfort to this wonderful family. All of the Skinners staff were an enormous help and they do credit to their profession.

When making arrangements for my mother's funeral we found all the staff to be very professional caring and compassionate. As a family we valued their help and guidance throughout the whole process and would definitely recommend their services.

Words cannot describe how hard it is to cope with the loss of a family member. So to organise a funeral shortly afterwards is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with.. First with my brother years back you took the time to listen and console us throughout and then when my mum sadly passed only recently, we had no issues with using your services again. What I will say is thank you, to all of your staff who took the time to show amazing professionalism and with no issues with how much time we took to go through every detail. Once again thank you!

At a very difficult time in your life you need that caring hand to see you through. Everyone you meet or speak to at SESkinner and Son Brighton , hold your hand through this difficult time. Words are not enough to describe this fantastic team of caring people. Thank you so much for the care and love you showed me and my family through a very difficult time. But also the care and love you showed my Mum and Dad on their last journey.

Ive used skinners on London road twice for my Mum and then four years later for my Brothers funeral. Although 4 years apart they fondly remembered the family and were extremely supportive in the arrangements. Shaun and Paul are amazing at understanding as a family what was wanted, they respected our light hearted approach with compassion. April and Annie were always amazing with communications and connecting the dots. This Team make something so heart wrenching easy for you to manage. I will always recommend anyone to them they really are the kind of people you need when arranging someones funeral. Thank you shaun for great conversation and a laugh, thank you Paul for being an amazing celebrant, writing an amazing service for my mum and brother it really felt like you knew them and understood their personalities and thank you ladies Annie and April, for being so caring, communicating so easily and making the whole process as pleasant as can be. Thank you and as lovely as you all are I hope i dont see you all for a while now!! Haha x
