Second time we've been here in a few weeks. Great carvery, easy going and friendly atmosphere. You are served beef, pork, or turkey (or some of all three), and a Yorkshire pudding. You then serve yourself from roast potatoes, mash, carrots and peas, cheesey cauliflower and brocoli, red cabbage, and gravy. There's also decent selection of sauces, horseradish, cranberry, mustard etc. Good beers and good food. Happy days. Getting served in seconds is always tempting on a Sunday when time is limited. We'll be back, maybe check the garden out next time.

This is great little cocktail bar in Brighton which offers are huge selection and always seems to have special offers on. We've been here many times, and often take friends when they're visiting. It's a well priced, and easy go-to. They have a mobile juke box so you can add your own tunes. It's got a party vibe on weekends, but we like it because it's small and unpretentious.

Booked a table on another of the wettest days of the year, for a pre theatre 6 o'clock before going to see the fabulous Sasha Velour at the Dome. My partner had injured her knee so we inched to the restaurant from the car park along the wet streets. We were welcomed a little early and put down our wet coats, and asked for the loo. We were told downstairs. Not easy to manoeuvre steep and winding steps with one handrail when using a walking stick but we both managed to ascend unscathed. On returning to our tables, we ordered and received very nice starters, one whitebait and one calamari. I followed with the Pollo Alla Crema and my partner had the Gamberoni Arrabiata. Both served piping hot. The Gamberoni had prawns in and was spicy and tasty. The Pollo dish had been in the oven so the pasta at the top was a little dry. The surprise for me was that the Pollo dish (chicken) was missing the Pollo. No chicken in a chicken dish. That was a surprise. It was tasty enough, but if I didn't like chicken I'd have ordered something else. I did tell the waiting staff who were most apologetic and said that they would pass my comments on. My dish had been taken from the bill when received, so that was decent. Not a restaurant I would rush to revisit, but it's cheap and cheerful enough.
