Having kept a boat in Brightlingsea for many years, we have now, with regret left for waters new. Will miss the town and the many friends we have met there. The professional services we have used for boat maintenance and storage have been great as indeed have many of the pubs and restaurants we have enjoyed. Our decision to leave has entirely been down to the poor communication and attitude we feel have we received from the harbour management. The harbour office customer service, in general, we have found year on year becoming increasingly poor. We have found more and more frequently the senior management and their representatives aloof and indifferent. This is in a big contrast to the service received from the harbour staff who do the "real work", i.e. the water taxi and the harbour launch staff who have been brilliant. Feel sorry for visitors who seem to be coming to grief and going aground more often at low tides on the Brightlingsea Sailing Club side whilst we go past them even on the lowest tides on the Point Clear side. Please see photo attached. Surely a harbour priding itself as a place to visit must have a better understanding of its leisure users than is being demonstrated to us at this present time.
