So the car was then booked in.
Turns out that this was just a marketing ploy and there was not something that had to be done at all.
So we wasted 3 hours travelling and the cost of a hire car. To my mind this was all just a scam. I will never deal with untrustworthy group again to the point it has point me off owning a VW.

But our experience of VW Stourbridge service team was Simply awful... my wifes car was running perfectly fine until we brought her car into this so called VW franchise. 273 for a minor service for a car that was running perfectly fine .... service detected faults in suspension so further 463 paid out. Bare in mind we had not issues with the car at this point but for peace of mind we decided to follow their advice.
So 2 months later, engine management light comes on ... phone them up to discuss but very uninterested ... no after care skills at all! If someone has paid over 700 on a service the least that a company can do is listen to the concerns of the customer and ask them to bring the car in for a check over and reassurance ... nope ... I quote sometimes sensors can be knocked during a service ... its probably that..... simply awful customer service!
My first and last service with this VW franchise and going forward I will stay away from this DO NOT Trust group altogether... I suggest you do your homework before booking your car in!
