When having a pc built from a store instead of online, there's a risk you take when it comes to guarantees. I chose MCS due to the welcoming nature of the owner Mike, and there's no denying his experience and knowledge on pc tech. Unfortunately, my computer that was built with parts I purchased brand new - TESTED TWICE AS NOT FAULTY BY THE ONLINE RETAILER - ended up loosing power within an hour and the end result was a computer that lasted a few days then would require a CMOS reset on the motherboard to function. It is understandable why a guarantee would not be offered with MCS due to them not buying the parts, but because the computer only lasted one hour before developing a fault, I feel the charge for this was unfair due to how quickly the fault occurred. I paid for an operating system and provided a 40 tip on top of this, and the build price back would have been suffice, especially when the build wasn't entirely built as I requested with a fan in the back. So really I paid for something that wasn't to my request, but that's my fault with been hasty. I cannot say that my review will reflect other people, as my pc was a 4 thousand pound pc, and something like that might be rare for the store when considering the parts involved and experience with them. For example - me having to give advice myself on how corsair fans are powered. In the end, I don't have anything against MCS, but feel my genuine and honest review is required for anyone that could be in the same position. I understand Mike has explained to me he doesn't offer guarantees, but I should have walked out when that was said. In the end, the overall experience has left me in a dilemma. On one hand, the motherboard is confirmed not fault, and on the other, the pc didn't work and was told by the online retailer it must not have been built correctly. I'm sure the majority wont have issues here for builds, but that's my experience. Mike did try to find the solution for me and i'm grateful for that. It's just a shame I was left in such a dilemma.
