    I would never recommend this company. We paid them to fit a charnwood stove into my mother's house. We had problems with the stove from the outset. About 3 1/2 years after install we got the regulators of solid fuel appliances (HETAS) to investigate the work and the HETAS independant investigation found numerous non compliances with the installation by Progressive Heating Solutions. See part of the report details at the bottom. PHS at the time were registered and regulated by HETAS so should follow HETAS guidance on ensuring the stove was installed correctly, was safe and compliant. PHS failed to install a lot of the key installation maufacturers guidance correctly, or at all. We trusted they were going to fit the stove in accordance with manufacturers standards especially for warranty purposes when we contracted them. The fire place was condemned by HETAS. PHS were ordered by HETAS to rectify the issues that HETAS found. They didn't get the stove back to its running order and we had to scrap it and replace with heating that worked at extra cost with another company that was reliable. The attitude of the CEO Andrew Teal (a freemason) and the staff was shocking, coming in our house and shouting at my mother and a neighbour and being aggressive towards us. The hot water tank in the roof was damaged while they were working in close proximity to it and it started to leak, causing water to come through the ceiling. This occurred on the remedial works they were ordered to carry out. HETAS report: Has the installation been installed and commissioned in accordance with the requirements of manufacturers installation instructions? NO. Has the appliance been installed in accordance with the requirements of the Building Regulations and relevant British and European Standards? NO. 1. CO alarm has been fitted but not in the correct location as stated in Approved Document. 3. No combustion air vent provided. 4. Flue connection to be in accordance with the manufacturers installation requirements. 5. Flue to be in accordance with the manufacturers installation requirements. Report continues. 1. The Feed/expansion tank and its components do not meet BS 4213:2004 requirements re 110 degrees centigrade. 2. The float operated valve is not constructed of copper that withstands any water temperature to BS1968. 3. The feed/expansion tank is not supported by a rigid platform of close boarded timber laid on support beams. The base skirt does not extend at least 150mm beyond the footprint of the base of the tank. 4. Temperature/pressure relief valve required to safely discharge the water in the event of overheating. 5. Low level safety discharge is to be provided using a wire cage or similar guard to prevent contact. 6. Low level thermostat not installed.
