I grew up aroung here and used it a lot when younger and was pleased to see that it has not changed much and still has same ticket dispensing machine! for 1.20 return you can not go wrong, why wouldn't you go on it if you are there for day out! We went for the day (parked in overflow carpark at back of SVR which is free as was going on to go on the train but got times wrong) so we walked over the footbridge br instead and up the steps to Castle Terrace and walked round there which was nice, we used it to go down and also walked up the side streets towards high town looking at the old houses then walked back down and went back up on the cliff railway. We also used tearooms right next to cliff railway and you can sit on terrace and view them going past, also you can see the winding gear if you go down the steep windy steps to the tearoom terrace
