Following the death of my wife, Fiona, Perry & Philips were recommended to me as funeral directors. The service provided by John Adams and his team was of the highest standard. Conversations prior to the day of the funeral were supportive and constructive providing valuable assistance in developing and planning the arrangements, style and the order of service to be provided. I found great reassurance in that all the arrangements would be looked after by the Perry & Philips team - lessening the load on myself at what was, obviously, a difficult time. On the day of the funeral, everything proceeded smoothly and calmly - resulting in a service that received much praise from the many who attended. I have no hesitation in thus recommending Perry & Philips to anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances. At all stages their service was friendly, compassionate and supportive.

Could not have had a better experience. My grandad passed recently due to CBD and through the entire time they were incredibly professional and treated the situation so kindly. They were just outstanding with every little detail, very polite and treated my grandad with upmost respect. They talked us through everything and made sure to explain bits we were unsure of. I could not recommend them anymore. Truly an amazing job.

I can not speak highley enough of everyone at Perry & Phillips. Having regular contact through work, I have always seen what a compassionate and professional team they are. When it came to using their service again on a personal basis, we knew from the first meeting with John that we didn't need to worry. John ensured throughout that the service was everything we wanted it to be. As expected, every detail was perfect, a day we were dreading turned into a perfect celebration of our mum/mother in law's life. We can not thank you enough.

I can't thank Perry & Phillips enough for everything they have done to help us through this time. I previously believed that planning a funeral was a harsh formaily that families have to endure however, Perry & Phillips have made it a special experience which is something I never thought possible. My biggest fear since being a child was how I would cope with losing nan but Perry & Phillips have provided so much support and care throughout the entire process. They shown that they genuinely want to support the family by offering many suggestions to be a part of the process however this was never pushed. They explained I could do as much or as little as I wanted to and I had their support through every step. From the first meeting with John I felt so supported and could see just how important it was to him that everything was right for the family. I was unaware of just how involved family can be with preparations and was grateful to be able to be very involved. It was important that nan looked perfect so I was able to do her hair, make up and help with getting her dressed. John and Darren explained every step of the process and offered so much reassurance, preparing me for what I would see, even the layout of the room. They made the entire process so calming by allowing us to play music, stay as long as needed and offer a much needed hug to support. Being involved in this way enabled me to feel so close to nan and gave piece of mind that I'd done all I could. The mortuary environment was so clean and was far from the scary place I imagined. Being able to dress nan and do her hair and makeup, brought nans character back instantly, just as Darren explained it would. He shown a genuine interest in what she was like as a person, I felt like he was trying to get to know her. Watching Darren refer to my nan by name, even calling her nan at one point and so delicately helping to move her was so reassuring and comforting. Darren treated nan with such dignity and respect which was truly beautiful, he even bought us a cake and candles from the shop as it was nans birthday on that day. With their help, guidance and support I was able to feel close to nan. This quickly eradicated the images from the time of death, which is something I was struggling with, that image has now been replaced with how peaceful and strangely happy she looked resting in her coffin in the Chapel. On the morning of nans funeral I was allowed to help with securing her coffin then support with taking her to the Hearse. This didn't feel morbid or scary, it was more comforting being the last person to see her especially as she looked so peaceful. Every aspect of the funeral was handled with so much care and thought, nothing was too much trouble especially for Katie who arranged the music and service sheets, she just wanted it to be right for us. The funeral itself went perfectly, with professionalism and consideration shown for us all. Everyone is different and the involvement I had may not be right for everyone but John and Darren ensured I always had the option, at no point did I feel obligated or pushed, I could see they just wanted to help. They explained there is no right or wrong thing to do. What I thought should be a very sad, upsetting time was made special for me and the family, it provided closeness and gave a gradual, subtle sense of closure which I didn't even realise was happening at the time. We'll never forget how amazing Perry & Phillips are.
