Called in for lunch and not disappointed, lovely surroundings and fies were burning given fairly cool interior. Ordered starter asparagus, serrano ham, rocket, walnuts and stilton on sourdough and nibbles of olives with little toasts between us followed by steak pie with mash and a lamb, apricot and chickpea casserole with new potatoes and pickled chillies (?) and pleased with our choices. Lovely taste and full Washed down with a pint of mild and pint of cider

A more wonderful pub to stop in. Open the door and the journey into the 19th century begins. The wood, the atmosphere and the interior design give us an idea of what it was like here in 1850. The food corresponds to a creative cosmopolitan cuisine and very good value for money. A must is the asparagus season and the dishes that go with it. The service is very friendly and courteous. Definitely worth a visit to the beautiful region.
