The present church dates from around 1550 and it was restored in 1903. St Oswalds Church is beautiful inside and out. I love to hear the bells ringing. Patrick Bronte married Marie Branwell (the parents of Emily Bronte, Anne Bronte, Charlotte Bronte and Branwell Bronte) they married at the Church on 29th December 1812 less than a year after they met. A copy of the marriage certificate is in the Church. Well worth a visit if you like old Churches and history. There is also an interesting graveyard to have a wander around, with some very old gravestones.
