Beresfords Estate Agents - Brentwood

I would caution any prospective tenants from renting with Beresfords. Theyre very adept and well trained to protect the interests of their landlords, but Im sad to say that theyve provided a very poor service to my young family and displayed a shocking lack of care for our wellbeing. To give you a flavour for some of the lowest points of our tenancy: theyve ignored our pleas for them to damp-proof the bedrooms where our newborn baby and 3-year-old child slept for up to two whole years (blaming the rampant black mould on us failing to ventilate the property when in fact it was riddled with rising damp); coerced us into signing a much longer tenancy agreement than we were comfortable with (insinuating that the landlord would no longer view us as desirable tenants if we asked for a break clause to be written into our contract); forced us to vacate our family home for almost two weeks with no offer of alternate accommodation and insisted the place was perfectly habitable despite it being essentially a hazardous building site; and demanded I surrender my set of keys to maintenance workers because they never managed to acquire a set of their own. And thats honestly just the tip of the iceberg

I have dealt with Ryan on a number of occasions and he is very professional and friendly. I really appreciate that he listens to my concerns and takes into account especially when taking photos of the propertly, making potentially stressful agent visits as comfortable as possible. Thanks Ryan!
