Set in the beautiful National Trust Rockford Valley the pub is a 17th century coaching Inn with many original features. Weather was a bit on the cold side when we were there in mid April, so after our walks the log stoves warming the bar and lounge were very welcome. The food was overall excellent especially the breakfasts with locally sourced foods. The sausages particularly were really tasty. The bar was run by Dawn with superb service and a friendly grin. We will be back! Truly a pleasure to be there.
