Millslade Country House is a special place, run by special people: Anna & Simon. This was a first family outing for our family of four (2 adults, 2 children of ages 4 and 1 years old) From the moment we booked to the time that we left, everything was perfect. Communication leading up to our stay, to arriving, both Anna and Simon were brilliant in meeting our requests. The location is special, set in the beautiful valley of Brendon - word of warning, if you want convenient local shops, I'd suggest Lynton as the closest place with amenities. The roads leading up to Millslade are quite narrow - beware! Walking into the property, Chickens, ducks and sheep roam free as well as the super-friendly Lola, the dog: which our children loved! Anna welcomed us and couldn't do anymore for us. The room was super clean, luxurious and really relaxing (we had room 4) Beautifully decorated and a en-suite that oozed class made us all feel very spoilt. Breakfast was so delicious using local produce and was consistently excellent everyday. Do take advantage of Simon's terrific cooked evening meals too if you get a chance, as they were equally as good as breakfast. Our daughter has quite a lot of allergies, but Simon was more than happy to meet our exacting demands with no fuss. Accommodation in the area is typically pricey (we visited during the height of summer holidays) but we found that the setting, welcome and food made this great value and would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone looking for accommodation in the area. It's worth noting that Anna and Simon make this place very unique. After our visit, we visited a pricey hotel in the Cotswold (this was for a 'luxurious' end to our staycation) In stark contrast to Millslade, this ended up being rather disappointing and in hind-sight, we would've stayed at Millslade for longer instead. Maybe next time! Boa

Fantastic place to stay. Anna & Simon couldn't be more welcoming & accomodating. The accommodation is modern and luxurious and the breakfasts are superb. We've been coming to the area for more than 50 years (I came as a child and in turn have brought my children) - six of those years have been staying at Millslade house and we'll be staying again in 2022 - We've tried the rest but now We've tried the best! It's setting is the beautiful area of Brendon Valley which makes it great for walks along the River Lynn (all the way to Watersmeet if you wish) and on Exmoor. It's only a few miles from the seaside town of Lynmouth and also the town of Lynton. Couldn't recommend this beautiful place and hosts more. My brother and I call it our Happy Place
