Edit: I have added an extra star as finally the Customer Service team helped me and gave me a refund. I purchased some more lights elsewhere. Then, with no notification, the lights arrived. I think the team prioritised the dispatch for me - so thank you for this. Great quality product but beware of misleading dispatch times. Ordered hardware and their new lights for my bathroom refurb. Was told the lights would be in stock 3 days after I placed my order... 2 weeks later I still have no lights, during the first call with their customer service, I was told I would get them the following week. I then get a dispatch notification but no follow up. When I call to chase I am then told that they have not been dispatched and they cannot tell me when they will be. The website now says the lights won't be instock until end of December. But no one has updated me which is disgusting. This is my second order and of a high value but their only offer to resolve this for me was to cancel the lights. Which is a bit late once electrics have been chased into the wall. Very very disappointed in this experience from a company that market themselves as high-end.

I purchased c5k of antique brass plates for the first phase of a full-refurbishment house project. Corston were chosen as the supplier for all sockets and switches. Once installed and within the space of several weeks, about half of the faceplates began tarnishing to extreme levels (this is caused in part by the rear of the plates having no protective coating applied, allowing reaction with the wall materials, in this case, lime plaster). Initially after contacting Corston, they said to apply Brasso (at my cost, which I did, but which ruins the antique coating). A second product was the recommended (at my cost, which also did not solve the problem). Finally, the defective faceplates were sent back to be replaced. After nearly 3 weeks (and several chasers) I was told that it must be damp in my walls (I have now had a surveyor out to confirm and there is absolutely NO evidence of damp). Despite the warranty clearly stating it covers defects, Corston point blankly stated "the best we can do is you pay half the new cost for us to refurbish them". For a company that presents themselves as a premium product, this is clearly unacceptable. Although these are designed as a living product it does not remotely explain or exclude this occurrence. I have begrudgingly paid this amount to ensure the return (and not leave me with exposed sockets). They were returned in as new condition, but one of the plates was missed out. This has now been sent separately. In addition, some of the toggle switches, despite being used only a handful of times, are already suffering from faulty actions. We will no longer use them to supplier the remainder of the house refurbishment, which given the quantum, seems very short-sighted given this could have been quite easily and quickly resolved. I would urge caution although the product does look great, the after service and communication has been incredibly poor, and I have little confidence in their desire to solve issues which are likely to occur in the future. I would also like to point out that over 3/4 orders, there were several small niggles (faceplates sent without the required screws etc) and no spares at all provided even for a very large order - all required chasing and lead to delays of installation by the electricians.

Having spent nearly a thousand pounds on switches and sockets for our renovation I feel well placed to leave an honest review of our experience. We have bought single, double and triple switches, single, double and triple dimmers, in addition to single and double plug sockets that were all bought in batches. Around 25% of everything we received was faulty or scratched on arrival. Dimmers were hanging off their seats, or sat at different heights, or the dimmer unit itself was faulty (really annoying after you have wired everything up and bought three light bulbs as you naturally assumed there was no way an 80 pound light switch would be broken). This meant we were were forever sending items back, making them unavailable for fitting when electricians were scheduled causing delays and additional costs. It got so bad that at on two separate occasions we sent back faulty units and were sent back different sets of faulty units even after we had pleaded that everything was properly checked before it was sent. We were absolutely astonished at how poor the quality control and service was. When we mentioned this to Corston they asked us to pick a free coat hook by way of apology. Thanks Having lived with the bronze units we were also shocked by their lack of durability. They are so easily scratched and smudged it is shocking. If anyone in your home wears rings, these will get scratched and the layer is so thin youll see a big shining scratch mark every time you look at your very expensive switch. We thought we were going to fall in love with all things Corston but sadly we REALLY didnt.
