A small wood between two roads, a conservation area for wildlife and plants, a lovely display of daffodils in Spring and a carpet of white wild garlic. The ferns are lovely and well established from old woodland . Oak, Beech, and Chestnut to name a few. The trees on the topside of the wood have many nesting boxes and also a box for bugs. Managed as a conservation area young trees are planted sweet chestnut are into their second year. The owners are improving the area each year with seating and a dog resting station with water. Winter feeding of the birds is encouraged with small bags of wild bird seed purchased at the wood for 30p per bag. You can see woodpeckers, owls, an array of small birds, There is also ground habitat for mice and the like. A selection of fungi abound the wood . A small and compact wood with lots of life .
