Visited the Durham branch today to get my windscreen replaced. I was in a situation whereby the garage that I bought the car from a few days prior were meant to be covering the cost of the replacement, but as my windscreen was being replaced, glass assist were under the impression that depending on the cause of the crack in the windscreen would determine who was liable for the cost; this was not what was previously agreed with the garage. The first man that I tried to speak to is the reason this is a 4* review and not 5*, as he was initially nice enough and took me to the waiting area. When I asked him to discuss the situation with my dad on the phone (due to him having been the one to arrange things with the garage) the man began to get quite argumentative, to the point where he actually took my phone out of my hand and walked away with it which I found really disrespectful. I followed him back to the work area where my car was being worked on and he continued to be argumentative. I began to get quite uncomfortable with the situation and didnt appreciate the way that he was speaking to my dad on the phone, but then a different employee came in and he listened to me about the situation and kindly offered to see what could be sorted and took me to the main office out of the way. The nice manner of which he treat me was a relief after dealing with the other man. When in the main office, we were joined by another employee (Im assuming in a managerial role) who was also very understanding and between the 2 of them they managed to sort out who was liable for the cost of the windscreen. Im really grateful for these 2 employees, particularly the one who initially took me to the main office, as they were both very understanding and seemed as though they really wanted to help me. They also phoned my dad to explain the resolution to the situation which was appreciated. They really turned the whole experience around.
