After reading generally positive reviews, we were looking forward to dinner at the local. Disappointing. Maybe the chef was off that night, but to be served a steak and ale pie that was obviously store bought was first insult. Mashed potatoes? Store bought. Gravy ! Bisto packet. And so on. My squash curry tasted nice, but rather surprised to see seeds had not been removed. Who preps squash like this for restaurant meal? perhaps staff shortages were reason for poor culinary skills. On positive note, beer was good and Aperol spritz lovely. Noteworthy details: Pub dining room lovely decor. Too bad urinals were overflowing onto floor.

Incredibly disappointing experience. My partner takes her anti ageing skin care routine very seriously but I dont quite think at 30 years old it warrants being asked for ID to have a glass of wine. Then to not even consider accepting a photo of it when they realised how wrong they were. Absolutely bizarre as the law states if you're 16 or 17 and accompanied by an adult, you can drink (but not buy) beer, wine or cider with a meal, which we were having. Dont see service like this in busy bars in London let alone a small village pub. Real shame, as a family we had been returning here for 25+ years.

I was subjected to such a horrible experience. My family and I have been going to this pub for years for Sunday roast. It now has new owners and they clearly don't care about ruining your evening. I got asked for ID when I'm almost 31 years old which is just absurd. I unfortunately didn't have it on me as I had hiked earlier that day but I offered to show a photo of my passport and they still said no and refused to give me a drink. There was no need for it. The staff were incredibly rude to the point where we all had to leave.
