Work experience in assembly and wash line. Not a good department to work in. Inductions given very disorganised. Moral generally low. Strict regimental orders, felt like a kid at school. Employees not even permitted to hum to themselves, music not permitted. Resulting in conflicts and any issues being blown out of proportion. New starters expected to wear uniform everyday even if quote for a month without washing as not given enough garments to compensate for wash time. When this was questioned & also that uniform is not PPE as advised by Health and Safety manager I was issued second hand old uniform garments from work colleagues and I was told fleece or no fleece yet unnamed staff wore cardigans, not fleece everyday. Second hand steel toe caps offered to staff. Foot wear shouldn't be shared. Not enough hot water to enable sufficient hot water for all members of staff to wash hands during 5 minute wash breaks twice a day. Resulting in females filling both sink basins with water and staff washing hands with the same bars of soap & everyone using the same water and soap bars. I found this unhygienic. Soap dispensers either empty or inoperative. The machine operated to wash, washed insufficiently. Workers have gone from washing certain components from twice to three times. Instructions were often given in confliction with previous instructions. Not all components came with relevant paperwork causing component mix ups. Staff do not have enough or correctly sized protective gloves. Anything required for job role repetitively needing to be asked for. Extremely judgmental, nit picky company to work for. Supervisor wrongfully quotes phrases. I was given no respect with regards to a death in my family, upon my termination commented on as to taking being terminated very well more than once and that I was a tough cookie. In comparison to the observation made of my mental state in a meeting a week prior with the manager and supervisor when my family member passed away. Id rather be terminated than lose a family member yes, Ive been through worse. This is not a nice or a pleasant company to work for.
