Picture-Perfect We stayed at Appleseed for a month over Christmas whilst awaiting the completion of a nearby property. This was undoubtedly the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Atop an unspoilt valley, the barns enjoy a rich history with a modern uplift, retaining their original charm and character. Our stay enabled us to hit the reset button after a truly horrendous year. Going off-grid was the best medicine we couldve asked for. The landscape was so peacefully still and soothing, with the welcome presence of owls, hares. Not to mention the lovely horses and sheep on the neighbouring property. The barns are perfectly situated. Within a very close distance lies the very quaint town of Ashbourne, Carsington Water for sailing/circular walks and the endless supply of farm shops and fantastic pubs. During our stay, we had the great privilege of seeing the property with both frosty sunshine and as a winter wonderland. This is not something we are used to after 15 years living in Sydney! We saw the most spectacular double rainbows, sunsets, sunrises, starlit skies and crescent moons. There is no doubt we will be returning with family in summer to enjoy the barns in warmer conditions and perhaps in time for the Ashbourne Festival (June) or the Bakewell Show (August). We were blown away by our super host, Emma, who went above and beyond for us at every opportunity. Her generosity was second to none, which included her treating us a three-course Christmas dinner, boxing day charcuterie board and countless other delectable goodies. Emma was not only warm-hearted and kind but a local expert in every sense. We also had the pleasure of a guided tour of the recently completed barn, Harebell with Emma. We were not disappointed and will be back in summer to witness in its full glory. We commend and marvel at Emmas meticulousness and exacting standards applied to the interior design elements and facilities of each barn. She has certainly provided sophisticated, luxurious accommodation with a rustic charm. As others have said, we almost want to keep the barns a secret as they truly are hidden gems. The barns would suit professionals to WFH and/or unwind, family and friend groups, a couples luxury retreat or even solo guests for a getaway to this blissful sanctuary. Reiterating past reviews, we cannot recommend Brailsford Barns highly enough and cannot wait for our return in the summer. Sophie and Neil

What an amazing host Emma was as nothing was ever too much trouble and she genuinely cared that we had a perfect stay. We lodged at Appleseed and it was idyllic with a tennis court which we could use just outside of the kitchen window and a log burner in the living area. The kitchen area was amazing with great views and a real feeling of country calm. The kitchen was really well equipped and the appliances were amazing as they were SMEG and the crockery was from the White Company. The living area had a proper country cottage feel with elegant seating and the log burner in the room was perfect for cosy relaxing evenings. The upstairs had the most comfortable beds and bedding I have ever slept in and plenty of spaces for storage with hanging and drawer space with beautiful pieces of furniture. You can tell Emma really cares about the standards of the property and experience her clients receive and i cannot recommend the Appleseed or the host highly enough! Will definitely be returning in 2021.
