Fantastic workmanship restoring the leaded glass panel on my grandfather's silver cabinet. So much so it looks original even though it is 100 years old! I have no hesitation at all in recommending Matthew.

Matthew is a skilled maker and restorer of stained glass and is able to communicate with clarity to a beginner the various processes such that an individual piece to be proud of can be made and taken home at the end of the day. He has a good classroom space and provides all equipment needed including a good choice of glass. A generous and patient tutor, I recommend his classes wholeheartedly.

I'd wanted to try making something in stained glass for a long time and Matt's beginner class was absolutely perfect. He is a very patient and calm tutor and quickly showed us the basic techniques to get started with our designs. In no time at all we were using all kinds of equipment and working with the beautiful glass samples available, shaping the lead and soldering. The day was great fun, without pressure and it was very satisfying to complete my piece of stained glass art. I can highly recommend the class to anyone wanting to give it a go - do it, you won't be disappointed! Looking forward to the next time and many thanks to Matt for sharing his knowledge and skills so freely with us all!

We attended a one to one course as a group of 3 for a family birthday. None of us had any experience or expectation of what we were undertaking - and I have to say everything was brilliant - what a great day! Matt handled the introduction and history of Stained glass with expertise and knowledge. Clearly explaining the step by step the process, use of the tools and designing of a piece that could be completed in the day session. Assisting with every step, offering help where needed and passing on the skills in an uncomplicated and clear manner. No question or request is too much trouble. As a host for the course Matt works hard to make sure everyone gets the most out of the day, and has fun whilst learning. I can undoubtedly say we all left armed with a new skill and the confidence to continue in the hobby. Our visit came at a time when the COVID precautions were necessary, and Matt left nothing to chance with clear guidelines, precautions and facilities in place for everyones safety, there was no need for concern and everyone felt comfortable and safe in the workshop. I can highly recommend Matt as a tutor and an expert, and would encourage anyone to book a course - you'll have a great time!
