Sabine Schmidt Pottery

I booked my wife into a set of Sabines individual one to one pottery courses and it was really well received. My wife loved the way Sabine encouraged her to rekindle her love of pottery. Sabine has a clear and methodical approach to her tuition always taking into account the students last experience. Well worth it.

I just can't get enough of Sabine's wonderful pottery. They are beautiful to look at, pleasurable to hold, lovely to use. I love her whole aesthetic and attention to detail...right down to the expert packaging. The whole buying experience has been a pleasure.

I had lessons with Sabine prior to her moving to a new address in Tiverton over a couple of years. Sabine taught me many skills during my lessons. She set me tasks based on her assessment of my current level of skills and my own interests and wishes. Sabine taught me many things such as what equipment to purchase, how to sit at a wheel to minimise discomfort, taking regular breaks from throwing and stretching as well as how to throw all manner of items from bowls and plates to lidded jars and tall vases. She was welcoming, friendly and organised, always prepared for each of my sessions. Sabine is a gentle and patient teacher with extensive knowledge and very encouraging and i learnt much more quickly from having one to one sessions than i ever did from the different evening classes I had attended prior to seeing Sabine. I would highly recommend Sabine as a teacher if you want to learn to throw a wide variety of tableware and household items.
