My ex is in the process of sending final letters and trying to recover a large deposit from this guy. This has gone on for months. He has been a right royal pain and it is looking like it is going to end up in the small claims court. Steer well clear. Update 2 years on: After thinking the small claims court wasnt worth her while and trying other ways to get her money back, she eventually ran out of energy chasing him. At the last count he still owed her 800 that shell probably never see again.

We asked Pete to supply and fit a new oven, hob and extractor fan when ours wasnt working as it should, all fine until items where delayed, again fine with installation until the extractor fan didnt have the hose to vent it outside Pete reassured us he would order one ( we said we were happy to pay for the hose etc) and come back and fit it, we paid him the full amount he charged us and that's the last we saw of him.....I contacted him three further times to ask him if he would be fitting the hose each time he gave excuses, cant get hold of parts etc, the last time I asked him if he could let us know by lunchtime so that I could make alternative arrangements.....he didn't even bother to reply!!! So we are currently trying to fix the hole in our wall with a hose kit ourselves even tho we paid Pete and gave him plenty of opportunities to carry out the work. And since I posted on his fb page hes sent me messages (not polite either) threatening to go to a solicitor and get me into trouble for slander (anyone sense a theme going here) and weirdly very fast response compared to when I was trying to resolve the extractor hose situation out, hes now got his girlfriend/friend telling me I'm wrong and should have to pay him thousands for being libel, and that shes seen all my messages to him and I'm lying. Will see what trading standards and gas safe have to say.
