I used this estate agents for a sale that eventually broke down. Whenever I spoke to someone they were nice but I feel like they never had any urgency or really chased the seller (this is where hold up stemmed from) The first red flag is when you email and get an auto response saying they are really busy and not to chase them! If this is the case then they should not be taking on new work if unable to adequately work on current workloads. I chased them quite often probably weekly but never seemed to get anywhere in relation to completion so I eventually just gave up and stopped bothering (after about 6 months). The sale eventually broke down as I found other alternatives over the 8 month period the sale was underway for. I was then charged an extra 500 after advising I would not be proceeding after I had already paid fees of 250 earlier in the year. From my experience if there is no sale then these fees are not be charged but maybe this is not the policy here. Either way it seems harsh. Overall I do feel like Ive paid for nothing and feel like this charge is unfair based on the fact nothing has materialised and no completion date was set. My partner who recently went through a house purchase too in the past year said consistently joked with me over the year saying how bad my choice of solicitor was, and then this joking turned to frustration. Her purchase took 3 months to complete and mine was not completed after 8! I would not recommend this solicitor unfortunately, there seem to be many better ones out there who work quicker and with greater urgency and with constant updates over email or online by visiting the case. There was very little from Deborah Hoban ltd.

Utterly disgraceful. Slack and incompetent. I will refuse to sell to anyone again who uses them as their conveyancer.

Alison & Sarah have the patience of Saints. Professional, polite and understanding. I fully recommend this Company and would absolutely use them again. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
