Amazing oreo brownie bake from Poppy at the Chilli festival in Surrey. Could tell this was made with love and passion. No joke, this brownie was the most moist and tasty I have ever eaten, and I eat brownies like they're going out of fashion,. The nearly 1kg tray did not last long in our house!

Taken from my review on the Windsor Food Festival: Poppy's Bakes No trip anywhere is complete without something sweet, and whilst there was a huge fairground style candy stall - thats the kind of low hanging fruit Ill leave to the kids. I wanted richer fair. Poppys was to be the destination. I cant remember why I was left alone at Poppys, probably something about inflatable play areas that dragged the wife off with the kids. Left dangerously alone to make the decisions I grabbed a small stockpile of sweet baked goods. Ordinarily, Id resist buying flapjacks, they are rarely exciting enough to be worth the cheating, but Poppy had sneakily made an array with different sweets on top and the Kinder Bueno partially melted atop a flapjack made short work of my mental conditioning and in the bag one went. Alongside two NY Style Cookies (I dont know what makes it a NY Style Cookie, forgive my lack of culture) and a Rocky Road for the eldest (which Im told was Good which is essentially the same as a 5-star review from a teenage boy.) The flapjack, Im sorry to report, not only affirmed the reason for my avoiding them normally but just, well, wasnt great. It looked like it was going to be moist and chewy but it turned out to be surprisingly dry and hard work. The bueno chunk on top was lost amidst the strong oaty sweet flavour of the flapjack. Whilst I cant fault the flavouring of the flapjack itself, it just missed the mark for me in the texture department. The NY Style Cookies though. Wowsers. What a treat, the slightly soft melted milk chocolate drizzled over what looked like a firm chocolate chip cookie was like a sneak attack in my mouth. Not hard at all, or at least only on the outside, inside was a doughy rich flavour that was so good that if she hadnt made hers disappear already, Id have risked a hand to steal the wifes cookie too.
