Residents basically just left to get on with it staff never around and when they are they never stay long enough it was originally a warden controlled sheltered housing but now it's not they have spent so much money on doing up the communal areas and making it look so nice for people coming to see it but they have made very little in the way of doing the flats inside the buildings my mother had to pay for her own flat to be decorated and re carpeted and after the workmen had finished doing what they had to do they then had to strip off all the wallpaper that my mother had just paid for they had to take up the carpet that they had spilt paint on so the 10,000 that my mother had paid to have her flat how she wanted it South Northants homes just went in and did all of the flats as cheaply as possible now nearly 10 years later the bathroom floors are black the wallpaper is coming off the walls basically what people do not see they are not bothered about I think it is a disgusting way to treat old people that need care and looking after that you put them in somewhere where you think is going to be secure and warden controlled there are no wardens just visiting officers or assisted living advisors who sometimes never stay longer than 2 hours I could go on but it makes me so cross and I'm finding it very difficult not to use bad language the residents themselves keep themselves happy buy gardening and having little groups with tea parties and providing themselves with small dinner parties which I think is wonderful but I would not recommend putting anybody in one of these flats because you do not get the flat decorated unless the last person dies
