Considering how busy and overworked they must be, The Heath Surgery were very professional, provided very good care and aftercare. A face to face Dr's appointment was arranged very quickly on the same day and the receptionist was very kind and helpful. A big thank you to the team.

In the past 8 years I've been registered at 4 different doctors. Most recently, I've been registered at The Heath Surgery, for the past 2 years and it is the first surgery I've disliked. Trying to arrange my child's 12 week vaccinations and my postnatal check up took 3 weeks of "The rota still isn't available could you try back in a couple of days". The doctor didn't even ask how I was feeling. A nurse gave an oral vaccination to my 12 week old baby too fast, despite my prewarning that she is a very slow feeder (which I'd raided concern with HV) this resulted in her choking to the point where the nurse had to take her from me and deliver gentle back blows and rubs. I left in such shock that I called my partner and just broke down over the phone. Another incident followed when I'd had a reaction to my 2nd pfizer vaccination, my chest ached constantly and had a shortness of breath. I waited 5 days to see if it would ease until calling the doctors, then arranged an appointment to see a nurse. My chest was listened to through a stethoscope and oxygen levels checked, but because both of these readings were fine- I was pressumed fine. Months later, I'm still now suffering with chest ache and occasional shortness of breathe but I don't feel I'm listened too and made to feel like I'm more of an inconvenience. Last week I was contacted by the Surgery advising me to book in for my first smear, to which I agreed and booked in for the following Tuesday at 9.15am (today) to fit in around the school run for my 2 older children. I asked if it was okay to bring my now 7 month old and they said it would be fine and I received a text confirming my 9.15am appointment. The evening before, I recieve a text reminder for my now 9am appointment. So I got my 2 older children to school at just made it to the surgery at 8.56am. I spoke to the receptionist and explained the 2 separate appointment times I'd received by text and she said it must have been moved by the nurse. I'd asked originally for 9.15am so I could guarantee I wouldn't be late, but I didn't think much to it as I'd gotten there on time. She said yes definitely 9am, so sit and wait to be called. I waited in the waiting room and at 9.16am I recieve a text saying I'd missed my appointment! I showed the receptionist and she said she wasn't sure what was going on and that she'd call the nurse etc and find out. At 9.25am she popped back and said, "it's my fault, I didn't book you in. The nurse could see you in about 20mins if you could wait?" I said sorry I cannot wait any longer as baby needed feeding and I left. I've also heard from other parents that the level of care received at this surgery is just not of a high standard, so I'm not alone. I've never felt concerned for any of my children's welfare or felt my voice wasn't listened to within a medical setting. It's disappointing, frustrating an actual concern. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

For many years, we've always experienced professional, caring service from all the Surgery team, both medical & administrative staff. However, the pandemic has highlighted their exemplary attitude in prioritising patients' needs. Very well done and thank you to all!
