My band Few Thoughts recorded "You wouldn't steal an EP" here. Dan is a Master at what he does! He captured the exact sound we wanted! Had the most amazing equipment. A very easy and relaxed environment to work. Its hidden away. Some people may dislike but I think it shuts you away from society and gives you all the focus you need when in the studio! I was a big fan of that. The chill room with the xbox and tv was a nice touch too (we diddnt use it) but I could deffinatly see how it benefits people in the studio who want to be out of the way for a moment. Dan has some amazing stories about people he has worked with aswell as where he got some of the equipment in the studio. For someone who's a gear nut like me that added alot of enjoyment to the whole experience. 10/10 all day long! Can't wait to go back!

Having worked in lots of studios around Kent, The Joplin House is the best by a long shot. Dan is an incredible producer and engineer who has a huge wealth of knowledge for the equipment and just music in general. The studio itself has an amazing vibe, and some of the best equipment (especially the Raindirk desk) so getting to use all of this gear is a game changer. I know that with all future recordings, I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend Dan and The Joplin House!

Beautiful studio with excellent equipment and an even better engineer behind the desk. Dan was knowledgeable, personable and really made me feel comfortable and able to give my best performances during the sessions. I had a really enjoyable couple of days in the studio and left with a song i'm very proud of!

Ive be lucky enough to have recorded in this studio over many years, as Astra Studios, Anchorbaby and now the Joplin House. I was intrigued when I heard it was being refurbished, with new mixing desk, and a comprehensive make over, including a new isolated vocal booth and a reworked live room. On a recent session with 6 piece country rock band Southern Dawn we were able to all play live, along with a live vocal in the new vocal booth. The end result was great, and thankfully the excellent Dan Lucas is still at the mixing desk, along with some great new studio outboard gear. Im looking forward to returning for another recording session at the Joplin House with Broke by Friday in May 2023.

Dan is an excellent engineer and musician with huge amounts of skill, knowledge and passion for music. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this studio and Dan, especially for guitar-based music.
