Inspiration Chartered Architects

I have been working as a consultant alongside Inspiration for a number of years now and have always been an admirer of their work. It clearly is inspiring! I particularly like their one-off home designs which display an unusual level of creativity in their look and form but also in the way they function. Sometimes quirky and always a statement, this practice likes to create something truly unique for each individual client.

We found Inspiration through AECB as we wanted to build an environmentally sound house in the garden of the listed thatched cottage where we had lived for 30+ years. Inspiration understood our brief brilliantly and years later we are very happy (warm and dry) in our EPC 'A' rated house that costs much less to heat than we receive from our PV panels. The design as well as the quality of the build was excellent.

My wife and I wanted to write a review regarding our experience with Inspiration Architects in relation to our future home. We both agree that the service, understanding and responses exceeded our expectations greatly. When we received the final proposal/drawings/examples we knew we had made the right decision in engaging your services. In fact we were blown away. Whilst building a home is a daunting task it is great to know that we have professionals such as yourselves waiting in the wings to assist when required. Your assistance in the process to date has been much appreciated. Your help has given us the foundation to build our dream.

We returned to Inspiration having had excellent an excellent service when we extended our kitchen and reconfigured one side of our house. Our new project was much more complex and adventurous involving almost a 50 percent addition to the floor area of the existing building and including a built in garage, dining room, double height drawing room and a mezzanine office area. Inspiration provided us with a number of conceptual layouts in order to ensure that we were fully happy with the seamless integration with the existing building. From the selection of the final layout through detailing, involved engineering design to the tendering and control of the building project we were delighted with the thorough and professional service we received. We now love living in the very distinctive and flexible space that Inspiration helped create for us and it always provides for a sense of fun when people encounter the extension for the first time! We found the Inspiration team through a recommendation when we began to plan for the extension and modernisation of our home. From the beginning we found them friendly and professional, with that important balance of sound advice mixed with a willingness to work with our vision for the completed project. There were a number of challenging aspects to our job (riverside location, flood plain consent, raft and pile foundations and sewer re-location) the complexity of which they handled with minimum involvement from us. They also advised us on sourcing structural engineers and building contractors. Our decision to work with Inspiration was an important factor in the successful completion of our project.
