I won't lie- it was a difficult days fishing, but it's winter and I didn't blank which is a plus as many others did. Good pegs, nice secluded area, no litter around. A dozen skimmers on pellet/maggot, a few roach and the last cast produced a bonus F1. Will be returning when the temps increase that's for sure.

Been here several times now . I 1st visited it when it was just a hole in the ground with hardly any vegetation its been transformed and now is a rather nice place to fish . The pegs are quite narrow almost canal style and both lakes follow a rectangular pattern . Why I like it here is there are quite good varieties of fish not just f1 carp on your typical match water the 2nd lake has larger carp but not enough to seriously summon the bivvy boys and most go 4-8 lb it tends to be match fisherman and pleasure anglers and there are quite a few familys . The owners look after this water and the lady owner who collects the reasonable 6 day ticket was showing round a builder to tell him what she wants doing on each of the pegs to improve them for instance my peg was concrete based And the perimeter boards had been pushed away from the concrete edgings. She wanted the issue sorting and I then further erosion from happening . Being honest most of the other commercial fisheries would not bat an eyelid at this but she wants the fishery to be as good as it can be . Highly recommended ! . The fishing tends to be best in the afternoon and most good anglers would expect to do between 10 and 20lb of fish + or at least have a busy day avoiding the gudgeon . Not seen any tench out of there but if it had them it would be a terrific asset. There is also a loyalty scheme produce 5 tickets 6 th time is free . Highly recommend this places one negative is not the owners but the attitude of a small minority of match anglers who often fish the matches there and continue putting fish in keep-nets when not in matches. It is against the rules !! Snd clearly spelt out on notice boards. When questioned the response is the management turn a blind eye to it . Not good ! I like using a keep net personally but rules are rules and in the hot weather its anglers who think the rules dont apply to them that are going to ruin any fishery . The management need to enforce the rule or scrap it as it encourages the less ethical crowd to go . Oh sometimes even midweeks there can be matches if you get there early you will be asked to break down look at the sign boards to understand where is free before fishing .
