Bought a property built by Esh. Numerous problems such as gas leaks, aspects of not meeting building regulations in terms of not being able to heat the property (some parts of property cannot be heated above 13 degrees in the winter!), whilst have CCTV footage of Esh contractors behaving like general cowboys - e..g, walking into my house with dirty footwear (despite having raised this) when I have an oak floor. Now the lounge floor is starting to break-up (in some areas, it's actually starting to collapse). They have also colluded with a contractor who installed faulty windows (claimed I melted a metal window using a candle!!!). There are also issues with cladding! We got in a professional snagger who identified that the property had a gas leak. National Grid came out to investigate and said that the wrong screw had been used (the Esh contractor had used a screw THAT WAS TOO SMALL ON A GAS PIPE and still signed it off. They built a property without lights on the stairs. The suggested permanent remediation was a cheap battery powered light that lights up when you walk past it. Had to go the NHBC and raise it as a complaint. NHBC found in my favour. Still didn't come up with a solution within the agreed date (of two months!), so NHBC actually had to give me the money and pay for it my favour. Literally the house was riddled with risks to life and health safety violations. A few months back, they asked me to rearrange all of my furniture so they could carry out a repair where the lounge flooring has started to collapse (which took from when I finished work at 5pm until 1am in the morning. The next day (after very little sleep), they told me they *forgot* to arrange for the repair to be done. They say forgot, others would suspect deliberate maliciousness given the other issues. CEO Andy Radcliffe told me someone was going to call me to personally discuss the problems (I think maybe felt guilty when I said I was rearrange every item of property I owned so they could make repairs (which didn't happen) instead of processing that a relative has cancer (I literally received this news and then had to start packing up the house) , but this is just another long list of Esh telling lies. So still a number of problems I am no clearer on. I also did a subject access request and things were held back and had to go back and request them. Very dishonest company which reflects bad on the North East. Coming from a construction background (family owned construction firm; served in the Royal Engineers), this is absolutely not a good company. They absolutely do not take pride in their work, and clearly see the North East as a cash cow where they can push poor workmanship onto unsuspecting buyers. Ironic to the company and staff members on their personal accounts tweeting about things such as mental healthy when they clearly have no respect for anyone.

If esh have anything to do with building your home, do NOT buy it. Problem after problem, not coming out to sort it when they say they will, the people on-site seem to wait until youve gone to work to post a sorry we missed you and then wont book an appointment with you so you can arrange leaving work. Windows wont open, leaks, patio doors not lining up properly so letting horrible drafts in, cutting holes in the ceiling to fix problems that they dont fix and then only partly fix the ceiling and leave you to it, I could go on and on. Awful customer service, awful contractors, awful repairs. Horrendous workmanship, I would never recommend this company.
